I’ve lived in Grants Pass 42 years and Sunshine is easily my favorite my favorite lunch in town. The salad bar has enough variety to always satisfy whatever tastes I’m looking for and the soups are the best I’ve ever had. Nothing out of a can here. Did I mention it’s organic? Rob and company really have it down.

  1. I completely agree with Walter and then some! I live in a large, busy city with many natural food store options including the big chains. Nothing compares with Sunshine’s delicate balance of top quality and perfectly selected variety deliciously prepared, which could satisfy just about any taste.

While traveling through Oregon on vacation with my family, we exited the highway in Grants Pass for what was to be a brief stop and decided to explore the quaint little town. We stumbled upon Sunshine Natural Foods, honestly being first attracted by the unusual murals on the side of the building. As a family, we had decided a few months earlier to try to eat better and refrain from the processed junk we all ate too much of. Thus, why not check it out? We were hungry, thirsty and needed a bathroom so in we went. The bathroom (w/ it’s “natural” hand soap and recycled paper towels) did the job nicely but the food was the highlight of our entire west coast trip! Delicious natural roast turkey, the best ever tuna salad, great quinoa salad (which I had never had before – tasted like a cross between wild rice & corn), wonderful soups and crisp organic salad fixings satisfied our every desire for about the same cost to visit typical fast food place. Before we hit the road, we stocked up on a bunch of freshly baked in house, natural treats made without refined sugar or eggs. While I was quite skeptical, they really were very good and in minutes, we were all wrestling in the car over the final few crumbs. We almost turned around to buy some more but our probably too tight travel schedule prevented it.

Our great experience at Sunshine helped inspire our whole family to regularly visit natural food stores for most of our needs. Sadly, we have not found any store back home that has all that Sunshine has and at such good prices. What a true oasis! I guess we have a great reason to return to Oregon next summer and we will be sure and fill our cooler to the brim before leaving so we can at least make it past Eugene before a referee is needed!

Thanks very much for such a great place.

  2. I love that you offer genuinely organic, healthy foods that are tastey and fabulous!

  3. We were very lucky to find Sunshine on our trip through the Grants Pass area. So many places claim to have organic or “vegetarian friendly” menu choices that usually turn out just to be some veggies with cheese that a non-vegetarian cook thinks will be appealing. Its obvious the folks at Sunshine understand high quality food. Everything was organic and delicious. Their soups are the best I’ve ever had when dining out. Cookies are the best ANYWHERE!
